Abstract:
Moral education, as a foundational pillar of the educational system, plays a pivotal role in shaping the character of elementary school students and preparing them for a responsible life. This study aims to conduct a systematic review of the representation of moral education components within the content of elementary school textbooks. Employing the PRISMA protocol, a comprehensive search was conducted across domestic databases (Noormags, Civilica) and international databases (Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar) over the period from 1394 to 1404 (domestically) and 2015 to 2025 (internationally). Out of 87 identified articles, 43 studies (25 domestic and 18 international) were selected using the CASP checklist. The findings reveal that components such as responsibility, human virtues, emotional self-awareness, and spiritual values are represented through narrative texts, images, practical activities, and group exercises. Three primary representation patterns multimodal, interactive, and context-based were identified, all of which enhance deep learning; however, deficiencies in addressing emerging issues, such as digital ethics, were noted. This study provides a robust framework for enhancing curriculum development.
