Abstract:
Understanding the enemy holds a special place in preserving the ideological, cultural, and political system. Enemy recognition has been emphasized in the higher-level documents of education, and some argue for the necessity of teaching enemy recognition in the educational process. Aim: The aim of this research is to examine the extent of attention given to enemy recognition in the Amadegi Defa'i textbooks based on the thoughts of Imam Khamenei .Method: This research was conducted with a qualitative approach using content analysis. The statistical population included two volumes of Amadegi Defa'i textbooks for the ninth and tenth grades for the academic year 1403-1404. A census method was used for sample selection, and thus the sample size corresponded to the statistical population. Data collection was carried out using a researcher-made content analysis checklist. Findings: In total, the components of enemy recognition were addressed 697 times in the Amadegi Defa'i textbooks. The most emphasis was placed on the component of tools and methods for confronting the enemy, with a frequency of 438, while the least attention was given to the component of reasons for the enemy's hostility, with only 38 instances. Despite the importance of understanding the nature and characteristics of the enemy, this component received little attention. Conclusion: Despite the emphasis on enemy recognition in educational content, there is a need for revision and improvement in the balanced distribution of components, greater use of images, and increased focus on understanding the nature of the enemy.
